my place along the river

for the past two sundays (maybe more, i can't remember) i've taken a bike ride along the river. i take a pack of water, a good book (i just finished 'gilead' and just started 'franny and zoey'), some lip balm, cellphone and ipod (call me a material girl if you want), and journal. thus, i am ready for the two+ hours i spend relaxing, reading, and trying to pet the local ducks. they aren't having any of it so far....

i finally decided to capture "my place" along the river because i want to remember it. forever. and i know that such special moments and places should be remembered regardless of having evidence of them on a memory card, but someday maybe a few years later or maybe fifty i'll be glad to have these pictures.

did you get that memory card line from me? although, i guess i was arguing the complete opposite. i do feel like having pictures (especially of the people and places and circumstances) you care about can never really be a bad thing. i guess i really just like having random memories and images pop into my head of places i had forgotten up to that point. it is like a tasty little treat just for me to enjoy.

i like the pictures...but why are they blurry?

actually a lot of people have had those thoughts regarding picture-taking and memory-making. ever heard john mayer's "3x5"? anyway, i didn't get the thought from you. and the pics are blurry because i took them with my cellphone.

i love 3x5. the guiltiest of guilty pleasures. i also love those mocassins. great blog, even though the comment button did curtail my picture-posting. no matter. beautiful photos and sentiment. wish i would've seen the river when i was there... p.s. why are tickets to india $1,300 goddamn dollars?
